NUPTUL TENPEI NYIMA RINPOCHE

Nuptul Rinpoche

Nuptul Tenpei Nyima Rinpoche was born in1984 in Nubri, Nepal. At the age of 7, he was recognized by H.H. Dodrupchen Rinpoche as the reincarnation of the great meditator, yogi, and teacher Khedrup Tenpei Gyaltsen. In the same year, Lama Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, founder of Serang Gonpa brought him to Chorten Monastery in Sikkim where H.H. Dodrupchen Rinpoche resides.

For fifteen years Nuptul Rinpoche studied under H.H. Dodrupchen Rinpoche and received the most important empowerments of the Longchen Nyingthig tradition. He is also trained as a Tibetan Buddhist Thangka painter, wood carver and he is skilled in several traditional Tibetan arts.

In 2007 Nuptul Rinpoche was appointed senior abbot and Dharma holder of Serang Monastery. He is responsible for raising finds to sustain the well-being and education of over 100 monks and nuns, and for other projects such as the earthquake relief in 2015. In 2011 to 2014, Nuptul Rinpoche was enrolled in the Tenzin Gyatso Scholarship program in the USA, studying world religion, psychology, art and western philosophy. He is also the founder and spiritual director of Mahasuka, an international association of Buddhist centers which facilitate the preservation of the Buddhist teachings and coordinate non-profit projects such as the Orgyenling Children's School project.
